Informational flyer for a 6-week emotional wellbeing program titled "Helping Children Understand Themselves." The flyer outlines what children receive, including spark pods, mini books, and guided sessions, and highlights the importance of the program for reducing anxiety, improving behavior, and building confidence. The program is PTA-funded, costs £850 per group of approximately 10 children, and includes resources for children to keep. The flyer emphasizes the program's focus on understanding children beyond just their behavior.

  • A specialist space for children (aged 3-4 years old) with SEND

    • Imaginative engagement

Children responded enthusiastically to the “flying to Ecuador” narrative, showing strong engagement through role-play and sound-making.

    • Attention and regulation patterns

Most children remained involved throughout; a small number disengaged mid-activity, highlighting varying attention spans typical for this age.

    • Successful Group Transition

The majority were able to transition from movement to sitting in a circle, ready to listen and participate in the next stage.

    • Introduction to emotional literacy tools

Children were introduced to Spark Pods and demonstrated curiosity, particularly through tactile exploration and questions about colours and “powers”.

    • Early calming technique adoption

All children were able to follow a simple breathing activity (“feeding the Blue Spark Pod”), suggesting accessibility and immediate usability of the strategy.

Children even noticed the “not like this” demonstration, proudly correcting it as they practised feeding their Spark Pods
