What am I doing?

I am creating a new ecosystem - All things Sparkly - offering an alternative strength based narrative to children who have a powerful senses - a sparkly mind.

My aims;

  • to help children feel seen, heard and understood

  • for behaviours to be seen as communication - and offer our children alternative ways to communicate

  • to allow children not only be accepted for who they are, but their many strengths celebrated

  • to create the biggest positivity tsunami and surround our babies with love, acceptance and joy

  • introduce calm and balance - using mindful rituals - helping children find their own calm

  • help children achieve balance - using nature to rediscover what their body and mind already know how to do.

I was put into forced menopause in July 2025 and since then, with every struggle has developed exponential beauty, peace and calm.

I am surrounded by nature, and lovely things.

The birth of ✨Sparkly People®

I have been a teacher for 20 years, and had a growing number of students ‘pop in’ to my classroom to share their recent diagnosis.

These views are my own.

I do not believe the look on their face belongs on a child.

It is a weight far to heavy for a child to carry.

I witness many distressed parents who have been on waiting lists for years and years, or parents who have used their hard earned holidays funds for a quicker, private diagnosis - hoping to get an answer that may help.

I am aware many parents are told that it will help, or that it is the only way to get help. To many parents - it did help.

Getting a diagnosis can be challenging - often meaning years of waiting.

Getting a diagnosis is not accessible to everyone in a time frame I consider acceptable.

Any child who needs support at school has the right to learn - regardless of diagnosis

Any child who requires extra time in exams - has a right to it - regardless of diagnosis

These are the decisions made by the SENCO based on evidence from educators that see your child most days.

Medication to ‘support’ a child who is struggling should be ‘needs’ focussed.

It would not be fair to rely on a diagnosis for medication if not all children have access to one.

I have witnessed a growing number of medicated children in schools.

  • it appears to help them focus

  • it appears to help them perform better in lessons

  • it appears to ‘calm’ the child

Would they need medication, if they were in a different space?

What if schools were adapted to suit the needs of all children, not children adapted to suit the needs of schools?

This is what I tell my students;

“Your diagnosis means you have the most incredibly ✨Sparkly mind, strong, deep feelings - it has many strengths - abilities to do things that others may struggle with - ability to see things other people appear to miss.

But yes it is powerful - it can be challenging and exhausting if you are in the wrong space”

Everyone has Sparkle, but some people are naturally full of Sparkle. These are the people that light up rooms they enter.

I call these people - Sparkly People®

No diagnosis needed.

✨Sparkly people see the World differently, they feel the World differently.

They often learn differently.

Not wrong. Different.

I am at a cross roads in my career, and being led down the most beautifully Sparkly path.

I was drawn to tiny natural objects in the Pitt Rivers Museum.

I have developed these items into ‘tools’ to help Sparkly Children (and adults) reconnect with themselves, so they feel celebrate their many strengths - I call them Spark Pods®

Their energy continuously grounds me, helps me feel calm and gives me permission to pause.

I have an extensive background in Mental Health and SEN - currently doing an NPQSENCO (Oxfordshire) and I want every child, and adult, to understand themselves better, and to celebrate their strengths.

People, especially children, deserve to feel comfortable and content, just being themselves.

Everyone should feel like they belong.

Sparkly Minds see and react to nature in the most powerful way.

✨Spark Pods®- an educational tool to try and help people reset, and reconnect with themselves, with others and with nature - their colours subtly align with auras and vibrations, and I have developed simple mindful rituals to help people reconnect with themselves, with other people - and with nature🌿.

These items are naturally sustainable and considered sacred in many cultures .

They are not toys and they should not be dispersed in water.

The myth believes that the right Spark Pod chooses the right holder, on observation it will be the one with’ the ‘loudest silent sparkle’ - making the observer feel drawn to it - the correct Spark Pod - that has chosen you - will be the one that is picked up by the observer.
