Who am I?
I’m someone who has spent many years working with children and young people.
For almost two decades I worked in education, watching thousands of young minds grow, learn, struggle, recover and shine.
Over those years I began to notice something.
Some people experience the world a little differently.
They feel things deeply.
They notice tiny details others miss.
They care intensely about fairness, kindness and beauty.
Sometimes the World feels overwhelming for them.
But those same people often carry something extraordinary.
A kind of inner brightness.
A sparkle.
I began to notice this sparkle again and again — in classrooms, in playgrounds, in quiet conversations after difficult days.
Children who thought something was wrong with them.
Adults who had spent years feeling “too sensitive”.
But what if that sensitivity was not a weakness?
What if it was actually a different kind of strength?
Sparkly People grew from that idea.
It is a gentle space created to celebrate people who experience the world vividly — the thinkers, the feelers, the curious minds and the quiet observers.
Many Sparkly People are neurodivergent.
Many simply experience life with a depth of feeling that can be both beautiful and challenging.
Sparkly People exists to remind them of something important:
Your sparkle is not a flaw.
It is part of what makes you extraordinary.
This project was created quietly and thoughtfully by someone who has spent many years supporting young people, learning from them, and believing in their ability to shine.
The world needs more sparkle.
And Sparkly People are everywhere.
